Portugal: The Nepali Embassy in Portugal has urged Nepalis residing in Nepal and various Middle Eastern countries to remain alert against fraud and misinformation related to worker visas.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday evening, the embassy cautioned the public following the Portuguese government's decision to suspend all categories of worker visas—except those for highly skilled workers—effective from October 23, 2025.

The embassy said it has received reports that Nepalis living in Nepal and the Middle East are being deceived by agents and individuals promising job placements in Portugal despite the ongoing visa suspension. It warned Nepalis not to fall victim to such illegal schemes and to refrain from participating in any activities related to fraudulent visa processing.

Clarifying the current policy, the embassy stated that no individual will be permitted to enter Portugal using worker visas that contradict the government’s suspension order. It urged everyone to remain cautious and avoid any dealings that involve sending or bringing people to Portugal under false pretenses.
